In this shoot I wanted to capture the ideas that exist in boys minds when playing football. This relates to everyday activities because although some boys only play football few times a week they have their mindset on becoming professional so they are constantly thinking about it. This shoot will be finished by the 15th of March.
Evaluation
Personally, I think this shoot went well. I carried on from the stereotypical life of a boy and photographed boys playing football to also grasp this concept. Some of the photos I have taken turned out well but others not so well. However, the goal I was taking pictures behind had a hole in it which I had not realised until coming to edit these images.

I think this is one of my best images because it represents how boys feel when they are playing football. In the background you can see that everyone else has their eyes on him showing us that he has all control and power just by having the ball. I think the flood light above him also adds to the effect of power and strength because he is directly underneath it showing that we should be looking at him. Although some of this image is blurred, I think it works well because the main focus of the image which is the boy with the ball is relatively in focus. Next time to improve this image I will attempt to have the boy fully in focus so that he stands out even more. Also, I could take this image from a different angle to grasp what his facial expressions are.

I think this is one of my best images because again it shows how much control and power a ball has over these boys. Both of these boys are trying to get the ball, we can tell this as both their eyes are on the ball showing us that wherever this ball goes they will follow. Even though it almost seems as though the net is a distraction in the photo and is getting in the way I think the goal net adds an element of symbolism in this photo because we have everything that the boys think about whilst playing, the ball, the net and their kits. Next time to improve this image I would make sure that everything is in focus to make them stand out more and draw even more attention to them. Also, I could take this from a different angle where the net is behind them instead of in front of them.

I think this is one of my worst image because the camera angle is so wide and hardly zoomed in on the boy that we can't help but get distracted by what else is going on in the image. I could try and crop this image but it is blurry and not in focus so when cropped this stands out even more. If I was going to improve this image I could maybe get closer to the image instead of being so far away and focus more on this boy and what he is doing. Also, I could adjust the camera setting to make sure I capture a freeze frame rather than the constant motion blurs in this shoot.
Progression
I then took my images and edited them in Photoshop to improve them.

I edited these images using the camera raw filter because it has more settings to play with when editing images. I increased the contrast of these photos because it gave the colours more boldness in the picture. Also, I increased the clarity of these pictures because it gave more sharpness. The other setting I changed was the intensity of the blacks, whites and shadows but these were different for each of the pictures. I was going to edit these images in black and white but it made the unfocused parts of the image fuzzy which I didn't like. I like the way I have edited these image because it makes them stand out more than the original photo.
The next shoot I am going to take is of urban life in London. From experience with this shoot I have learned that I need to change the camera settings if I want to capture action photos as freeze frames. When photographing urban life in London I will change the camera setting to capture bette photos.
