Shoot 6 Work Record

Stereotypical life of a man
In this shoot I wanted to make the stereotypical life of a man come across in these images. I took pictures of a man working and on his way to work. This shoot will be complete by the 12th of April.

Evaluation
I think this shoot went well because I captured some good photographs, there were also other not so good images.

This is one of my better images because although there is some uneven light coming from the sun in the picture I think the light gives it a better effect. The man and what he is doing is lit up by the natural light which helps as he is the main focus. The inside of the van is dark which also helps because we don't necessarily want to be looking here. I think the composition of this image is good because if I took this at a different angle we wouldn't be able to see the tool bag on his shoulder.

This is also one of my better pictures because although there is uneven light in this picture too I think the glare on his face doesn't prove much of a distraction. The angle that this picture was good because he isn't looking at the camera but we can see where he is looking. I could've chose to take this image in the van but I decided to take it from outside the van as it shows us looking into his life.

This is one of my bad images because the picture is too bright. In this shoot I had to change the settings of the camera because I was changing the conditions I was in. I think the angle of this image could also be improved because we are looking at him straight on whereas if we got more of an angle to this it would've turned out better. To improve this image I could've changed the settings of the camera to allow less light into the image.

Progression
To progress these image I put them into Photoshop and edited them to improve them.

To edit these images I used the camera raw filter because I like the intensity bars it has as it helps edit the picture better. In the editing process of these images I edited them roughly the same, I didn't change the pictures massively but I did edit them so they appear bolder and better.

To improve this shoot I could get some images of him actually working and use some objects to symbolise him and his work. However, I think this shoot went well because I was able to capture the life of a stereotypical man well as he appears strong and dominant in these images.

From this shoot I have learnt that several different camera settings have to be used in the different locations I was in. Next time I can experiment with the different locations and have the camera setting ready before the shoot.
